1Timothy 6:6 KJV: But godliness with contentment is GREAT GAIN.
In our article last week, we saw that it is the will of God for us to have GREAT GAIN IF WE cultivate GODLIKENESS WITH CONTENTMENT.
What is great gain?
It is profit every area of our existence: spiritual, mental, physical, material and financial.
1Timothy 4:8 KJV: For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
In particular God wants the Church at both the individual and collective levels to be the richest institution on the earth: this is GREAT GAIN.
This truth is prophetically shown with Israel typifying the church in
Deuteronomy 28:1,10-13 KJV: And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: (10) And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee. (11) And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. (12) The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. (13) And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
Here, the scripture reveals that the Church will be above all nations of the earth financially and materially and so will lend to nations and not borrow!
The Church is set to experience this prophetic destiny from this year 2013 and onwards as we ‘possess Jericho’: a type of the prosperity that comes in the ‘Promised Land’ of the perfection and fulness of Christ.
In his time, Solomon was the wisest and richest man on the earth; however, the Lord Jesus reveals to us that in this 3rd day before the Lord Jesus returns physically for the millennial reign, the Church will be ‘greater than Solomon‘:
Luke 11:31 KJV: The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Colossians 1:27 KJV: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Like God gave Solomon great wisdom and riches, God will now give great wisdom and riches to those in the Church who have cultivated GODLIKENESS WITH CONTENTMENT:
1 Kings 4:29-31,34 KJV: And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. (30) And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. (31) For he was wiser than all men; (34) And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
1 Kings 3:13 KJV: And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
This GREAT GAIN or wealth that God will give the Church will be used to break, rule and disciple the nations and so cause this dispensation to close. This truth is typified in God’s blessing of Israel in the Promised Land:
Deuteronomy 6:10-11 KJV: And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, (11) And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
This typifies prophetically the Church buying over corporations that produce goods and services (in food, healthcare, education, clothing, transportation, real estate, communication, energy, entertainment and defence): the Church will own and control the majority of the means of production of food, goods and services on the earth.
Isaiah 60:5,11 NIV: Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (11) Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that men may bring you the wealth of the nations— their kings led in triumphal procession.
Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV: But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Matthew 24:14 KJV: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
This great wealth will give us the financial freedom to keep God’s Word, not allowing as many Christians now are, the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things to choke the Word in our lives (Mk.4:19).
Psalms 105:44-45 KJV: And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people; (45) That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
