RESURRECTION POWER
(week 17/12)
OLUBI JOHNSON

As we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus in this Easter season, we wish all our readers resurrection power and victory in every area of your lives!

Ephesians 1:19-23 KJV: And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, (21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: (22) And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, (23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The power that raised the Lord Jesus from the dead is the same power that is available to us in Christ as ‘branches’ of the ‘Vine’: the same life that flows in the ‘Vine’ flows in the ‘branches’.

John 15:5 KJV: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

It is the power that got us born-again: recreating our human spirits, changing the nature of our spirits from the dead satanic nature to the living divine nature:

1Peter 1:3 KJV: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

2Corinthians 5:17 AMP: Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

It is crucial to have increasingly progressive and experiential knowledge of this resurrection power if we are to be conformed to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:29) in this lifetime:

Philippians 3:10-14 AMP: [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] (11) That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body]. (12) Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. (13) I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, (14) I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

How do we get the revelation and experiential knowledge of this resurrection power?

By:

1. Humility to get God’s grace and wisdom (Pr. 11:2).

2. Revelation knowledge (2 Cor. 4:6).

3. The spoken Word of God to receive and release the life of God (2 Peter 1:4).

4. Praying in the Spirit with tongues (1 Cor. 14:2) and travail (Rom. 8:26, Gal. 4:19 and Heb. 5:7) to release resurrection power into our souls: will, mind and emotions, bodies and circumstances and so experience the reality of that power.

Once again, we wish you a victorious Easter season releasing resurrection power into your life in continuously increasing measures for the rest of this year!
