Manifesting the Glory of God
In our last article we saw that the challenge of this hour is to manifest the glory of God to our generation.
The glory of God is the physical manifestation of His presence and power that men can physically see.
We also saw that the way this glory will be manifested through us is by the development of the love of God in our lives.
Now the scripture says:
1 Corinthians 15:41 NKJV: There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
While this refers to the resurrection, in the manifold wisdom (Eph. 3.10) of God this can also be applied to the glory of God that will be manifested through the church in this hour.
In other words, the degree of the manifestation of the glory of God through the church will vary from saint to saint. Now the saints are typified by stars in Daniel 12 and Genesis 37:
Daniel 12:3 NKJV: Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
Genesis 37:9-10 NIV: Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” 10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”
The degree of the glory of God manifested through us will depend on the degree to which we are developed in the love of God:
1. Those that have developed the love of God to the level of babies to little children (1 Pet. 2.2; 1 Jn. 2.13) will manifest the glory of God at the level of the 70 disciples under the ministry of Jesus:
Luke 10:1, 17-21 NKJV: After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes.
2. Those that have developed the love of God to the level of little children to young men (1 Jn. 2.13) will manifest the glory of God at the level of Stephen and Phillip:
Acts 6:8 NKJV: And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.
Acts 8:4-8 NKJV: Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 for unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.
3. Those that have developed the love of God to the level of young men to Fathers (1 Jn. 2.13-14) will manifest the glory of God at the level of Peter and Paul:
Acts 5:14-16 NKJV: so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
Acts 9:32-42 NKJV: Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. 33 There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. 34 And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately. 35 So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord. 36 At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. 37 But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. 38 And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. 40 But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. 41 Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. 42 And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.
Acts 19:11-12 NKJV: Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.
Acts 20:8-12 NKJV: And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. 10 But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.” 11 Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed. 12 And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.
4. Those developed in love to the level of Fathers (1 Jn. 2.13) will manifest the glory at the level of Jesus and greater:
John 2:11 NKJV: This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory;
John 11:39-44 NKJV: Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” 43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
John 14:12-13 NKJV: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
So now we should daily as a habit be diligent in the Word and prayer to develop maturity in divine love so we can manifest the glory of God in this hour.
