UNDERSTANDING YOUR HEAVENLY TREASURE 2
(week 40/09)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our article last week, we saw that Christians who have been giving their tithes and offerings consistently over many years are rich: with a 100 fold every year on what they have given being credited to their heavenly account.

However, in practice we find many being poor because they do not know how to draw from their heavenly account. This week, we will see how to do this.

The degree to which a Christian’s soul is prosperous: how humble (Phil. 2.8) the will is, how enlightened the mind is with revelation knowledge (2 Cor. 4.6) and how dominated the emotions are with the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5.22), determines how much of that 100 fold return he can withdraw into the earth to meet his needs and desires.

3 John 1:2 MKJV: Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Firstly, we make sure we give our tithes promptly, completely, regularly and cheerfully so that we can have constant access to our heavenly account: ‘keep the windows of heaven open’:

Malachi 3:10-12 MKJV: Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room. (11) And I will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts. (12) And all nations shall call you blessed; for you shall be a delightful land, says Jehovah of Hosts.

If you should ever stop tithing: paying your tithe, your heavenly account will be temporarily suspended: ‘the windows of heaven will be closed’; but once you repent and start tithing again the ‘windows of heaven’ will be reopened!

Secondly, we draw on some (depending on how much our souls are prospering) of this 100fold return through prayer and walking in the Spirit by keeping God’s commandments of life and love and doing things pleasing in His sight by the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 3:22-23 MKJV: and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. (23) And this is His commandment that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

John 13:14 MKJV: If then I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

John 13:34 MKJV: I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another.

We keep these commandments of life and love by washing feet at least 4 times daily.

We do things that are pleasing in His sight by frequently (at least once every conscious hour Mt. 24.42) acknowledging (Pr. 3.5-6) the Lord for mercy unto eternal life (Jude 1.21) with thanksgiving (Col. 4.2) in our thinking and frequently praying in tongues (1 Cor. 14.18, Jude. 1.20) throughout the day.

As we do this, the life of God and the power of the Holy Spirit that is released into the souls, bodies and circumstances of ourselves and the people in our sphere of influence will cause the money and/or material things we need or desire according to the will of God to come into physical manifestation.

Even those who ordinarily would be our enemies or oppose us will be influenced by God’s power to bless us like God used Ahasuerus and Haman to bless Mordecai:

Proverbs 16:7 MKJV: When a man’s ways please Jehovah, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Esther 6:1-11 ESV: On that night the king could not sleep. And he gave orders to bring the book of memorable deeds, the chronicles, and they were read before the king. (2) And it was found written how Mordecai had told about Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, who guarded the threshold, and who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. (3) And the king said, “What honor or distinction has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?” The king’s young men who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.” (4) And the king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king’s palace to speak to the king about having Mordecai hanged on the gallows that he had prepared for him. (5) And the king’s young men told him, “Haman is there, standing in the court.” And the king said, “Let him come in.” (6) So Haman came in, and the king said to him, “What should be done to the man whom the king delights to honor?” And Haman said to himself, “Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?” (7) And Haman said to the king, “For the man whom the king delights to honor, (8) let royal robes be brought, which the king has worn, and the horse that the king has ridden, and on whose head a royal crown is set. (9) And let the robes and the horse be handed over to one of the king’s most noble officials. Let them dress the man whom the king delights to honor, and let them lead him on the horse through the square of the city, proclaiming before him: ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor.'” (10) Then the king said to Haman, “Hurry; take the robes and the horse, as you have said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Leave out nothing that you have mentioned.” (11) So Haman took the robes and the horse, and he dressed Mordecai and led him through the square of the city, proclaiming before him, “Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor.”

It is vital to note that the same spiritual power you generate and release by keeping the commandments of life and love and frequently acknowledging the Lord for mercy and praying in tongues (as shown above) to please God is what God uses to make your enemies (the carnal minds (Rom. 8.7) of men) to be at peace with you and to be used by God to bless you!

In our article next week, we will see how to make our way prosperous.
