THE FLOOD OF HIS COMING 2
The ‘water’ in Noah’s flood typifies the power of the Holy Spirit released without measure, just like the measure of water released during Noah’s flood was without measure totally flooding the earth and submerging the highest mountains and hills to a depth over 15 cubits (about 20 feet).
Genesis 7:18-20 MKJV: And the waters prevailed and were increased greatly upon the earth. And the ark floated upon the face of the waters. (19) And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth. And all the high hills that were under the whole heaven were covered. (20) The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.
Genesis 7:23 KJV: And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
Furthermore, it is instructive to note that 2 things caused the flood:
1. Rain from heaven.
2. Tidal waves from the depths or springs of the oceans.
Genesis 7:11-12 NIV: In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. (12) And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
The rain from heaven typifies the power of God that is released through the teaching of God’s Word:
Deuteronomy 32:2 NIV: Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
Luke 5:17 KJV: And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
The springs of the great deep typify the power of God that is released by deep intercession in the Spirit with tongues and travail (Rom. 8:26, Eph. 6:18, Gal. 4:19):
Psalms 42:7 KJV: Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
1 Corinthians 2:10 KJV: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
John 7:38-39 AMP: He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water. (39) But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).
So we see that it is the combination of prayer in the Spirit and the anointed teaching of the Word that will release the power of the Spirit without measure causing a spiritual flood of the power of God that will bring destruction to those outside the ark of the love of God and exaltation (Is. 2:2-3) to those inside the ark.
As the floodwaters rise, the destruction of those outside the ark and the exaltation of those inside the ark will become more and more evident.
The ‘opening of the windows of heaven’ also typifies the opening of the heavens when the Spirit without measure was released on the Lord Jesus Christ at the baptism of John:
Luke 3:21-22 KJV: Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, (22) And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
The forty days of rain also typifies the 40 days of fasting and prayer the Lord Jesus had in the wilderness:
Luke 4:1-2 KJV And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, (2) Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Luke 4:14 KJV: And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
So, in this season as we teach the Word, fast and pray with deep intercession in the Spirit, the power of God without measure will be continuously released bringing the flood of His coming in us!
