THE FRUIT OF GOOD TREASURE_2015
Luke 6:43-45 NKJV: “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. (44) For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. (45) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Here, the Lord Jesus tells us how to know good men: by the fruit of good treasure that comes out of their hearts and consequently mouths.
What is this good treasure?
The good treasure of revelation knowledge, understanding, wisdom and instruction as shown in
Colossians 2:2-3 NIV: My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, (3) in whom are hidden ALL THE TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE.
Why does this good treasure of wisdom and knowledge GUARANTEE that man has the fruit of the Spirit and divine approval?
This is so because UNITED LOVE AND HUMILITY are the prerequisites for this treasure to be revealed to the heart and so mouth of any man:
Colossians 2:2-3 NIV: My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and UNITED IN LOVE in love, SO THAT THEY MAY HAVE THE FULL RICHES OF COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, (3) in whom are hidden ALL THE TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE.
Proverbs 11:2 NIV: When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but WITH HUMILITY COMES WISDOM.
So, to be entrusted with the good treasure of wisdom and knowledge in your heart and so mouth, YOU MUST HAVE THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: LOVE (which contains joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance and patience (Gal.5.22)); AND HUMILITY.
This fruit of good treasure FIRSTLY is in the heart and mouth; then LATER it is CONFIRMED BY WORKS OF POWER AND GLORY.
Mark 16:20 KJV: And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and CONFIRMING THE WORD WITH SIGNS FOLLOWING. Amen.
Observe the WORD COMES FIRST AND THEN SIGNS FOLLOW (NOT THE SIGNS FIRST):
Luke 17:20-21 NIV: Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, (21) nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is WITHIN you.”
We see this when the disciples received the Holy Spirit FIRSTLY WITHIN (from the Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday) and then 50 days later on the day of Pentecost with an OUTWARD SHOW OF POWER AND SIGNS OF SPEAKING WITH TONGUES:
John 20:22 NIV: And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:1-4 NKJV: When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (2) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. (3) Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. (4) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
In fact, this is how you can detect FALSE OR CORRUPTED (ORIGINALLY OF GOD, BUT BECAME CORRUPTED) GIFTS AND ANOINTINGS (like Saul (1 Sam.16.14) and Balaam (2 Pet. 2.15-16), they have signs of power BUT DO NOT HAVE THE FRUIT OF GOOD TREASURE: THE WORD OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING.
Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (22) Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ (23) And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
In our article next week, we will see in more detail how to recognize false or corrupted anointings.
