PRAYER, POWER AND THOUGHTS 2
(week 45/12)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our last article, we saw that the peace of God comes to our minds after we pray effectually and fervently enough, but we must keep that peace by keeping our minds on God and His Word:

Isaiah 26:3-4 KJV: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  (4) Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

So we must constantly acknowledge the Lord for mercy (for eternal life (Jude. 1.:1) which would have been previously released into the air through our prayers and words (Jn. 6:63)) in our thinking to direct the power that has been previously released in prayer into our minds and circumstances to keep us in perfect peace, knowing that the power of God so directed will bring the answers into physical manifestation.

Proverbs 3:6 KJV: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

It is crucial to make the distinction that the power of God is released through our mouths, but directed by our thoughts.

Our thoughts do not release power: they only direct power that has already been released through the mouth; just like the steering wheel of a car does not release power to move the car: it only directs the power that has been released by the engine to the wheels.

So there should be a synchronization and synergy of God’s power by: Prayer—Words—Thoughts—Deeds.

Prayer in the Spirit generates the power that is released by our words, directed by our thoughts, which then empower our deeds that will bring the answers to our prayers into physical manifestation.

James 2:22 NIV: You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.

So Paul says after we think on the right things we can then do the right things:

Philippians 4:8-9 KJV: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (9) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Moses by the Holy Spirit teaches us the same in

Deuteronomy 30:14 AMP: But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.

So let us pray effectually and fervently in the spirit on a daily, weekly and monthly (1 Chr.23:30-31) basis to generate the power of God in sufficient measure for different areas of our lives, then speak God’s Word regularly (weekly, daily) to release the power generated, then think God’s Word (continually especially during temptations and trials) to direct the power of God into our souls, bodies and circumstances that will then enable us to do the God’s Word. Also praying tongues frequently (1 Cor. 14:5,18; (at least once every 6 hours (Dt.6:7, Mk. 13:35)) though briefly, acts as a booster (Jude 1:20, 1 Cor. 14:4) to the power of God originally released during a more extended time (over 1 hour) of prayer in the Spirit; this is just like booster or base stations boost or amplify electric voltage or signals to their original levels when released and transmitted from generating stations far away from distribution and consumer centres because of the attenuation caused by electrical resistance of the transmission medium (wires or air).

Paul by the Holy Spirit summarizes all this in

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 AMP: Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always);  (17) Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly];  (18) Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
